Cycles of renewal

“Renewal-Collaborations,” an exhibit of work by artists Becky Evans and Robert Benson, is on display through Oct. 5 at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, 636 F St., Eureka.
Artwork by Kit Davenport and Adrienne Werth is on display at the 40degrees North Gallery, 320 Second St., Suite 1C, Eureka. An Arts Alive! reception is slated for Oct. 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. Davenport taught ceramics at College of the Redwoods for many years and creates both two- and three-dimensional pieces. Werth has also worked as a gallery and exhibition professional locally. “I make art to communicate something of my self and to entertain myself. Internal energies/ preoccupations are transmuted into solid, tangible structures, in hopes of making something transcendent and new,” said Davenport. (Submitted)

Nature journaling program offered

The goal of this 90-minute session is to sit quietly in one spot in the marsh, making formal and informal observations of natural surroundings, on a small or large scale.
