ARSENAL are looking ahead to a busy summer transfer window after another trophyless season.
The Gunners have been tipped to sign Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga who is being priced at £60million, according to reports.
Elsewhere, Arsenal will have to battle with Chelsea for Nico Williams' signature and reports in Spain are claiming that the Gunners will have to pay Real Sociedad MORE than his £51m release clause to seal the deal.
Arsenal have moved ahead of Manchester United in their move to sign Benjamin Sesko this summer and have made a breakthrough in negotiations, according to Football Transfers.
According to a fresh report on Friday, the Bundesliga club had transfer chiefs in London for a meeting on Thursday with Arsenal in order to thrash out the terms of a deal for Sesko.
Now Arsenal are preparing to make a formal offer early next week, and the belief is that the bid will be closer to £84m than £68m.
Viktor Gyökeres has said he will talk about his future "when the time is right," hitting out at reports over an ongoing rift between him and his club, Sporting.
Gyökeres, 27, wrote on Instagram: "There is a lot of talk at the moment, most of it is false. I will speak when the time is right."
Sporting CP president Frederico Varandas insisted this week his club had not received any offers for Gyökeres but that they would only consider bids of at least €80m ($92m)
He added: "We knew Viktor's dream was to go to a club where he could fight for the Champions League, and we have common sense. We guaranteed that we would not demand the €100m."
Gyökeres is reportedly upset with Sporting CP, believing they have gone back on an agreement to allow him to move for €60m plus €10m in add-ons -- much less than his €100m release clause.
Arsenal are considering Norwegian left-winger Antonio Nusa as another potential signing from RB Leipzig during their talks over a deal for Benjamin Sesko.
Sources with a close understanding of Nusa’s situation have now informed CaughtOffside that he’s attracting interest this summer, most notably from Arsenal.
Multiple insiders in the industry also confirmed Arsenal’s interest to CaughtOffside, along with other clubs such as Chelsea, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Everton, and Napoli.
However, it is not yet clear if Nusa, valued at around £40m by Leipzig, is a priority target for any of these clubs.
Arsenal are preparing an improved bid for Viktor Gyokeres but Manchester United have also launched a rival offer for the Sporting striker, according to reports in Portugal.
Sporting turned down Arsenal’s initial proposal worth an initial £47million plus a further £8.5m in add-ons.
Sporting have made it clear that they are willing to sell Gyokeres for less than his £85m release clause and are understood to be holding out for a fee closer to £68m.
According to Maisfutebol, Arsenal are ready to submit an improved bid to Sporting with a package worth £60m including bonuses.
The report claims that Sporting are prepared to hold another round of negotiations with Arsenal, while there is a ‘growing optimism’ in Gyokeres’ camp that a deal can be agreed between the two clubs.
It’s also claimed that United remain in the race for Gyokeres and have made it clear to Sporting that they are willing to pay £51m up front, plus a further £8.5m in add-ons.
Ramsey began his career with the Bluebirds and returned two years ago
Ramsey was Bluebirds' interim boss for the final three Championship games of last season after the Welsh club sacked Omer Riza.
But the midfielder was unable to prevent relegation to League One.
Cardiff are now close to announcing Leicester assistant Brian Barry-Murphy, 46, as their new manager.
The Welsh club said in a statement: “Aaron will leave the Bluebirds this summer.
“The Welsh captain rejoined his childhood club during the summer of 2023, before taking up the role of caretaker manager for the final three games of the 2024/25 campaign. Aaron departs Cardiff City Stadium with our best wishes.”
Insiders said that the three also be competing to take the main presenting job for next year’s FA Cup Final.
But Chapman, 51, and Cates, 49, will clearly compete on friendly terms, having signed up to join a star-studded CelebrityGogglebox crew.
In a video to confirm their appearance on the show, Chapman said: "Hi it's Mark and Kelly here. We are on Gogglebox on Friday and we've never watched telly together, have we?"
To which Cates said while laughing: "No, we've been on telly together but we've never actually watched anything we've done."
And Chapman joked: "I invite Kelly around all the time but she always refuses. She's hit the snacks already. Go on stuff your face."
