Henderson Land Development is joining hands with local athletes and charities to launch the Breaking New Ground campaign, to let 700 grassroots secondary school students experience sports like windsurfing and riding the Olympic wave.

With the GDCD Association and InspringHK Sports Foundation, the developer launched the campaign to promote local sports development. The campaign used a series of events and programs around four key themes: Inspire, Engage, Play, and Cheer.

Classes and sharing sessions of six sports including windsurfing, fencing, swimming, badminton, table tennis, and tennis will be held.

Hong Kong windsurfing athlete Chan Hei-man, will help students to engage by sharing windsurfing skills.

Chan said she has been training in the sport for over 20 years since the age of nine.

"I never thought I would be training windsurfing for many years, and I didn't think it would be nine years from my first to my second Olympics," Chan said.

"I hope everyone can find their interests, set small goals, and work hard to achieve them," she said.
