Oxfam Hong Kong said it had experienced a cyberattack on July 10, affecting certain of its systems, including the Oxfam TrailWalker system. The organization said it is actively working with cybersecurity experts to investigate whether the incident resulted in any unauthorized disclosure of personal data and the extent of any such disclosure.

It said independent cybersecurity experts had been engaged to examine the affected systems to assess the impact of the incident and remediate the incident.

Reports have also been made to the relevant authorities in Hong Kong, including the Police, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, and the Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Coordination Centre, it added.

The organization said it wants to assure its donors and partners that data security is its top priority, and it remains committed to continuously strengthening its digital defense to safeguard its information and systems.

Members of the public, meanwhile, were reminded to refrain from opening or accessing suspicious emails, messages, or links from Oxfam Hong Kong.
