Murder Inc. Records co-founder and former Def Jam executive Irv Gotti has been sued for sexual assault, the Miami New Times reports. Gotti, whose legal name is Irving Domingo Lorenzo, was sued by a woman—who is being identified as only Jane Doe—on July 11.

The woman stated that Gotti allegedly sexually abused her several times and that the abuse started in 2020 after the pair met through a mutual friend at a poker tournament. She subsequently agreed to accompany him on a vacation to Saint Martin.

“After flying her to Saint Martin, Gotti coerced plaintiff into having sex with him. Gotti specifically threatened plaintiff that he would send her home if she did not comply with his demands. Accordingly, and due to his power and influence in the music world, she complied,” the lawsuit explains.

Jane Doe says her “abusive” two-year relationship with Gotti started shortly after the trip. “During this abusive relationship, Gotti demanded that plaintiff perform unwanted sexual acts and often berated and scolded her,” the document details.

In addition, the woman said Gotti allegedly forced her to perform oral sex on two different occasions. Doe’s lawyer, Adriana Alcalde, released a statement about what her client has allegedly been through.

“She’s suffered a lot. She really has,” Alcalde said. “With the #MeToo movement, women feel a little bit more empowered to speak up and tell their truth.” The lawsuit also states the alleged victim has dealt with “severe emotional and psychological harm for which she had to be committed to a psychiatric ward.”

Gotti, 54, co-founded Murder Inc. Records in the late ‘90s wih his brother Christopher Lorenzo. It was an imprint of Def Jam Recordings. Over the years, he has worked with a slew of hip-hop artists like DMX, Jay-Z, Ja Rule and Ashanti.
