The Henderson Area Chamber of Commerce has proudly announced its 99th annual Chamber banquet and silent action has been set for Feb. 4, with its theme of Henderson: A connected community.

Henderson Chamber Executive Director, Bonnie Geddie recently distributed the public invitation to the organization’s annual event and expressed her excitement at spending an evening filled with community-wide camaraderie, helpful connections, and recognition for outstanding local businesses and citizens alike.

Event attendees will hear from incoming Chamber Board President, Mark Robinson, of AEP/SWEPCO, on his expectations for his time in local leadership. Since coming on board with the Henderson Chamber he’s expressed his appreciation for the people of Henderson and Rusk County commenting frequently on how well-connected the people of this area are, in good times and in bad, leading to the theme for his term of office...Henderson: A connected community.

Awards this year will be given out to specially-selected nominees for the John R. Alford Young Man of the Year, Louise Jacks Young Woman of the Year and the William Ashby Lifetime Achievement award. Businesses of the year, both small and large, will be recognized along with outstanding representatives of local law enforcement agencies and first responders.

The Chamber will also honor its Silver Star and Ambassador of the Year.

“We look forward to gathering with all of our business community and Chamber members,” said Geddie, still deep in the planning process for the upcoming event. “These events, especially ones of this nature, are so important for our community. The chance to get together and mingle with local officials, business representatives and members of the community in a fun and uplifting environment provides networking opportunities rarely found naturally.”

As planning for this grand event continue, Geddie pointed out that donations for the silent auction are still be accepted and are greatly appreciated. For area businesses hoping to donate items, and community members hoping to attend can contact Geddie at 903-657-5528.
