The Egyptian Football Association has reached a deal with the former USA coach Bob Bradley to take over its national team, two weeks after Egypt failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in 33 years.
The EFA spokesman Azmy Megahed said Bradley is expected to arrive in Cairo this weekend to finalise the deal. "All is good. Bradley will be here on Sunday to sign the contract," Megahed said. He refused to disclose financial details, and Bradley's agent, Ron Waxman, declined to comment.
Bradley will replace the long-serving Egypt coach Hassan Shehata, who stepped down in June towards the end of a disappointing qualifying campaign for the Cup of Nations.
Bradley was sacked by the US federation in July and replaced by Jürgen Klinsmann.
