St Chris students create a Poppy tribute...

CHILDREN at St Christopher's School marked Remembrance Day yesterday by creating a Poppy tribute at the school's Saar campus.

Students, parents and staff created poppies from red card and planted them in a school display.

Children also signed their names to make each poppy more unique while donations were also collected to support the Poppy Appeal.

Chelsea Pensioners John Griffiths, Peter Henry and Hugh Craig visited the school during the week and each signed a poppy.

Poppy Day is recognised around the world in commemoration of the end of the First World War to remember the members of the armed forces who dedicated their lives to protecting others.
