Nasal splints.

The Smart Splint Series 5000 (two-piece Velcro(r)) and Series 5500 (one-piece foam) are new members of the Denver Adhesive Nasal [Splint.sup.TM] line of products from Shippert Medical, used to stabilize the nasal bones and cartilage following nasal surgery or trauma and to reduce edema.

The Series 5000 nasal splint is composed of a combination of soft aluminum and two-piece adhesive Velcro. The three adhesive layers and ventilating Velcro allow 7 to 10 days of adhesive stabilization and prevention of edema after nasal surgery.

The Series 5500 nasal splint is composed of a combination of soft aluminum and 1/8" closed cell foam for gentle compression. This one-piece splint provides 5 to 7 days of adhesive stabilization and prevention of edema after nasal surgery.

The Series 5000 and 5500 Nasal Splints feature contoured dorsal pads, which prevent wrinkling on the nasal dorsum; Slimline Velcro (Series 500) or foam (Series 5500), which provides a less bulky appearance; softer Velcro hooks and loops (5000 only), which have less potential for trauma to tissue; 1/8" closed cell foam (5500 only), which provides gentle compression; medical grade adhesive for optional taping; and are extremely adhesive and easy to apply.
