Al Naboodah Construction Group to deliver 16 UAE projects in 2019.

Al Naboodah Construction Group (ANCG) plans to deliver up to 16 primary projects in the UAE, according to the contracting company's managing director, Senan Al Naboodah.

The UAE construction heavyweight will complete six key infrastructure and construction projects by the end of February 2019 alone, Al Naboodah told Construction Week.

In May, it will wind up an intensive renovation of the south runway at Dubai International Airport , which Al Naboodah called his "primary focus" due to the quick turnaround required. Alongside the runway revamp and six infrastructure and building projects, ANCG will deliver car parks, roadways, and emergency service buildings for Expo 2020 Dubai .

The contractor may complete Dubai Roads and Transport Authority 's Package 3 for road interchanges and orbital bridges for the expo entrance.A new headquarters for the Fly Dubai airline, located in Warsan, could be finished before the end of 2019, and sub-stations for Mitsubishi and Siemens will also be delivered during the year, as well as two car showrooms for Al-Futtaim Automotive in Dubai Investment Park.

Property projects scheduled for delivery in 2019 include Emaar's two-tower Creekside 18 plot in Dubai Creek Harbour and a four-tower development for AW Rostamani Group in Mankhool.

"All in all, we have a pretty busy year ahead in secured work alone," Al Naboodah said.

The main focus for the contractor in 2019 is the building and infrastructure work required for Expo 2020 Dubai, as major construction needs to be wrapped up by October 2019: "We still expect a nominal amount of private infrastructure development packages and some roads, port, and airport projects coming to the market in 2019.

"Our experience in the buildings division [led to] a steady stream of enquiries at the back end of last year, and we expect this to continue in 2019 in the commercial and residential sectors, with an uplift in pavilion and related projects associated with Expo 2020 Dubai."
