ARAB UNITY CALL.
NOUAKCHOTT, Mauritania: Arabs must unite to counter Iran's dangerous interference in the affairs of other regional countries, Bahrain warned yesterday.
Efforts to eradicate terrorism will not succeed unless this interference is confronted, Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa told delegates at the 27th Arab Summit in the Mauritanian capital.
In a speech he delivered on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad, he said Iran's interference aims "to export violence and terrorism of all forms to our countries by training terrorists and smuggling weapons and explosives".
It also aims this through "instigative and provocative media statements and logistical support for our terrorist groups in order to spread chaos and sedition among our peoples", he pointed out.
Shaikh Mohammed, who is heading Bahrain's delegation to the summit on behalf of His Majesty, paid tributes to Arab countries for standing with Bahrain against criminal terrorist acts that targeted the kingdom and have claimed the lives of several security officers and civilians.
"We reiterate our condemnation of the hostile Iranian interferences and call on Iran to respect principles of good neighbourliness," he said.
