In some locations, ocelots prey heavily on mammals weighing >4 kg, such as howler monkeys (Alouatta; Abreu et al., 2008; Bianchi and Mendes, 2007), sloths (Bradypus variegatus and
Choloepus hoffmanni; Moreno et al., 2006), and pacas (Cuniculus paca; Bianchi et al., 2010).
Other mammals in the reserve that are also endangered are the giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla), the giant armadillo (Priodontes maximus), the short-eared fox (Atelocynus microtis), the bush dog (Speothos venaticus), the three-toed sloth (Bradypus infuscatus), and the two-toed sloth (

Choloepus hoffmanni) es uno de los mamiferos mas abundantes en las zonas boscosas de Costa Rica (Wainwright, 2007), existen pocos estudios que contemplan aspectos reproductivos y endocrinos de esta u otras especies del super-orden Xenarthra (Gilmore, Da-Costa, & Duarte, 2000; Muhlbauer, Duarte, Gilmore, & Da-Costa, 2006; Troll et al., 2013).
En el presente trabajo se reporta la densidad poblacional del oso hormiguero pigmeo (Cyclopes didactylus), el perezoso de tres dedos (Bradypus variegatus) y el perezoso de dos dedos (
Choloepus hoffmanni), asi como la proporcion de sexos e incidencia de hembras con cria de los dos ultimos.
