    How You Communicate Matters

Most professionals get stuck in Crippling Ego or Destructive Modesty. How intentional are you about how you communicate and frame your words at work?

    Destructive Modesty

You are a team player but you believe speaking up for yourself risks damaging relationships or your career.

    Crippling Ego

You speak up for yourself easily but people don't listen to you. Your ideas fail to get accepted. You lack influence despite your efforts.

    Curious Advocacy

You advocate for your ideas successfully because you have the trust of others. You achieve win-win solutions rather than win-lose.

Professionals who are serious about their career growth and development invest in this edge.

Thanks to my advisor and the team at Rora I got a ~$250K increase on my remote Facebook offer! The whole process was very smooth, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use the service for any future negotiations. I found the regular calls with my advisor where we walked through strategy and discussed the scripts to be extremely helpful. Not only did it help with this negotiation, but I also learned a lot of useful negotiation tactics that I’ve already started to use in other situations.

    Questions Before Joining?

    Why hire a career agent?

The biggest causes of failure in our careers are from failing to solve people problems, not from failing to solve technical problems.

You could be leaving hundreds of thousands of dollars on the table because you don't negotiate your job offer effectively. You could be wasting years in your job because you don't know how to negotiate inside your job effectively.

A Rora Career Agent will amplify your career and have your back in ways you did not know were possible.

    Why pay for this?

Smarter negotiating can be the difference of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Compound this over a 30 year career and it's obvious, better decisions have a 10X impact on your career.

Successfully negotiating is not just about intelligence and effort, it's about network, access, and leverage. We know the unspoken rules in industry and have the insider information to match the company's expertise. Our clients save 6 months to several years in their career with our insights and strategies.

Do you know what is 10X more expensive than Rora? Failure. Termination. Quitting. Missing out on a big opportunity because you were blind to it.

The cheapest dollar to spend on your career is not later when you’ve failed; it’s to avoid failure  from the beginning.

    How do you charge?

For a job offer negotiation, we charge as a % of the negotiated delta of the job offer we help you negotiate. No increase, no fee. Our company does not survive unless we impact your career.

For negotiating your role inside and helping you advance internally, we charge a monthly fee.

Aren't you incentivized to risk my job offer?

No, because our service includes supporting you to negotiate inside your role as well. While we charge on the upside of the offer negotiation we sustain our business profitably by building a long term relationship with you and advancing your career in the long term.

    When should I apply?

You should apply when you are starting to look for a new full time position. The strategy for your negotiation begins as soon as you reach out to a company. If you’re already negotiating we can still help, but please reach out ASAP since your need is time sensitive.

    Who qualifies?

STEM PhDs and postdocs who are entering industry or STEM PhDs working in technology, quant finance, and bio-technology. Senior software engineers or higher level, typically 7 or more years of experience.

    How do you work?

We work with you 1:1 to negotiate job offers, raises, promotions and inside work, help you advocate your ideas successfully and navigate interpersonal dynamics effectively.

If I’m experienced at negotiating is it worth it?

We have helped professionals with 20+ years of experience negotiate better than they would on their own. We have done L9 offer negotiations worth tens of millions of dollars. That being said, we can’t guarantee our impact, which is why we have a Pay What You Think is Fair Guarantee. If you don’t agree we had an impact outside of what you would have done on your own, then Rora is free.

Can I lose my offer from negotiating?

Yes, it is possible. We have the data to know that it is exceedingly rare, less than 1% of the time. Your risk also depends on how you negotiate – we identify the signals when you are at risk, and manage that risk appropriately.
