The Kaiserslautern defense proved impenetrable, and the offense did just enough to defeat Vilseck 13-4 on Friday night.

The Falcons (0-1) got within the Raider 10-yard line three times and came up zero points. On one occasion, Kaiserslautern (1-0) produced a goal-line stand on a 4th-and-1.

The host Raiders forced eight fumbles in the contest. Jamaal Redd had four solo tackles and a fumble recovery, while teammate Sevastian Quiles picked off a pass.

Offensively, signal caller Rueben Todman led the way. The senior went 13-of-23 passing for 186 yards and a touchdown. He also scampered for 43 yards on 10 rushes.

Todman spread the ball around, with Jakob Bell doing the most damage. The sophomore receiver totaled 76 yards on five receptions, including a score. Quiles added 29 yards off two grabs.

Zama transfer Denver Dait rushed for 50 yards on four carries and added another 33 yards on three catches. Noah Worthington had 30 yards and a touchdown on eight attempts.

For Vilseck, Xavier Wilson amassed 76 yards on nine carries, Sam Broyles contributed 50 yards on four attempts and Jacob Broyles chipped in with 26 yards on four rushes.

Baumholder transfer Keryel Badillo had 62 yards on 11 passes. Wyatt Smith saw many of those targets with three receptions and 48 yards.

Defensively, Courtland Carrol recorded four unassisted tackles and picked off a pass.

Up next for the Raiders is a showdown with crosstown rival Ramstein on Sept. 13. The Falcons, meanwhile, have an even longer road trip when they travel to England to take on Lakenheath.

Ramstein 30, Stuttgart 15: The defending champions scored first and last – but it was all Royals in between.

Kydan Echard ran for 252 yards and three touchdowns for Ramstein, which reeled off 30 straight points after the Panthers opened the season with a score.

Quarterback Mike Gonzales completed 18 passes in 33 attempts for 255 yards and ran four times for 43 yards. Shaun Young rushed for 52 yards and a score. Christian Roy caught seven passes for 95 yards and Caden Nims grabbed five for 84.

On defense for Ramstein, Echard and Javier Harrington had seven tackles apiece and Alex Bencivenga added four.

Wiesbaden 24, Lakenheath 18: The Warriors came out on top in a contest that featured seven turnovers.

Both squads struggled with turnovers. Lakenheath threw three interceptions and lost a fumble, while Wiesbaden tossed two picks and lost another fumble.

Lakenheath plays its home opener on Sept. 13 against Vilseck. Wiesbaden hosts Stuttgart the same day.
