Welcome to the Selective Service System Freedom of Information Act home page. This page was created in accordance with the Electronic Freedom of Information Act Amendments (E-FOIA) of 1996. Selective Service’s FOIA Page provides basic instructions on obtaining information through the FOIA. Specific guidance on filing a FOIA request can be found in the “Access to Public Information” handbook.

How to Submit a FOIA Request:

When submitting a written FOIA request to Selective Service, requesters should state the request is being made under the Freedom of Information Act, the request should be as specific as possible in identifying requested records, and the requesters should include their name, address, and telephone number.

NOTE:  You can expect to receive a response to your FOIA request in 20 business days once the request has been received by our FOIA Office.
