India will welcome back all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja from injury, but the team is still without batters KL Rahul through injury and Virat Kohli due to personal reasons. Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan could be in line for a Test debut, as well as keeper Dhruv Jurel, in place of KS Bharat.

England named their starting XI for the third Test earlier today, with one change as Mark Wood came in for Shoaib Bashir. Veteran pacer James Anderson retained his place in the side, and will be chasing down a significant milestone on Thursday.

700 Test wickets: How many scalps does James Anderson need to join Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan's exclusive club?

In all of Test cricket history, Sri Lankan spinner Muthiah Muralidaran is the game's highest wicket-taker with a staggering tally of 800. The only other player to go past 700 is Australian legend Shane Warne, who finished with 708.

However, they could be joined by another player on Thursday. Anderson's tally of Test wickets currently stands at 695, meaning he needs just 5 more to become the third player, and first pace bowler, to take 700 Test wickets.

In addition to the mark of 700 wickets, Anderson is also closing in on the mark of 1000 international wickets (Test, ODI & T20I). Once again, Warne and Muralidaran are the only ones to achieved the feat so far. If Anderson performs well in the next three Tests, he could reach the mark before he leaves India.
