World Boxing lands Nike as second major sponsor

US sportswear company Nike has agreed an exclusive apparel and footwear deal with World Boxing, a new international federation launched last year in a bid to preserve the sport’s Olympic status.

World Boxing signed the long-term deal with Athlete Performance Solutions, a global Nike licensee. The agreement covers all clothing and footwear worn by officials during World Boxing competitions.

As part of the deal, a collection of co-branded apparel and products will be launched for consumers. The agreement marks World Boxing’s second major commercial partnership after a four-year deal with equipment manufacturer Sting to provide gloves, protective clothing, handwraps and training equipment.

World Boxing held its first meeting with the International Olympic Committee this month and plans to work with all boxing stakeholders to ensure the sport’s place on the programme for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and beyond.
