Title: Java Developer ( * many ) Ref: 3920 Overview: Our downtown Montreal major international Financial client is looking for many (10+) 3 + year solid Java Developers to join their growing team developing financial products. All 12 month contracts. Things you need to have: The ideal candidate will demonstrate an eagerness to learn the existing platforms, which are built using a variety of technologies including Java, C++, C# and be proactive in designing and building the next generation of systems to meet the business demands. The person will also be able to handle competing demands including both tactical and strategic initiatives, manage their own work to aggressive deadlines and work within a globally distributed team. The role will offer a good opportunity for those looking to make a difference to a growing group in a major business unit of this major Financial organization. Skills Required • Strong technical background including proficiency in OO (Object Oriented) design and in-depth knowledge of Java or scala • Strong communication skills Good with XML Full life cycle development including requirements, design, implementation, testing, deploy, enhance Knowledge of FX trading systems, especially electronic trading SQL (queries, sps, views, join, etc.; Sybase preferred) Keen problem solving sense (Mathematics and analytical background) • Refine requirements with users, convert those requirements into a design and build a solution to meet that design It would be great if you also had: • Design Patterns and Sybase tools • Highly motivated, enthusiastic team player, while still a solid independent contributor • Extensive use of tiered technology • Experience with functional programming and with scripting languages such as Perl What you will be doing: Developing customized financial products and enterprise tiered applications for the Financial Company on a large team.
