Matt Weesner is a former SDPB Radio Program Director and he's been playing music on the radio for more than 20 years. Weesner started hosting ON RECORD back in early 2004. He also plays piano and keyboards for the Hazel Miller Band and the Joey Canyon Show.

Every Sunday night at 9 CT (8 MT) learn about the sounds, leaders, players & arrangers with host Karl Gehrke.A lifelong Big Band afficianado, Gehrke was listening to Benny Goodman and Woody Herman while his dad was listening to Janis Joplin and Steppenwolf. Gehrke has been hosting Big Band Spotlight since 1993. His "day job" is hosting SDPB Radio's Jazz Nightly.

Saturday was the USS South Dakota Day of Honor, marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the 250th anniversary of the US Navy. An event was held in Sioux Falls to celebrate the occasions.US Sen. John Thune was the keynote speaker. Some protestors rallied nearby to oppose some of Thune’s latest policies, namely the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

Gov. Larry Rhoden said the state has entered into a purchase agreement to purchase 148 acres of land in northeast Sioux Falls along Benson Road. The agreement gives the state the option to purchase the site, if approved by the Legislature.
