Home Security Using Rfid: Prepared by

This document discusses using RFID technology for home security. It describes using an RFID reader and tags to automatically identify users and allow entry if they have an authentic tag and enter the correct password. Sensors at the door would then automatically turn on lights and fans. The system aims to improve efficiency over manual checking and make better use of resources through automation. Key components include a PIC microcontroller, RFID reader, relays, LCD display, and other electronics. Advantages are automatic identification, strengthened security, and easy installation. Disadvantages include potential higher costs than barcodes and reliability issues with multiple tags responding at once.

HOME SECURITY USING RFID

PREPARED BYLOKESH KUMAR,OO11502808 BK SUMIT,0201502808 KAPIL RAJDOR.1101502808

OBJECTIVE
Improved efficiency by using RF tags that facilitate automatic data entry rather than manually checking every individual. For efficient use of resources. To automizing resources.

COMPONENTS
PIC Microcontroller RFID Reader Opto coupler Relay switches Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Fan and Bulb Step down transformer

PIC microcontroller
The 40 pins make it easier to use the peripherals as the functions are spread out over the pins. Each pin is only shared between two or three functions so its easier to decide what the pin function. It has no internal oscillator.

7805 Voltage Regulator

It is commonly used in electronic circuits requiring a regulated power supply due to their ease-of-use and low cost. It gives output voltage as 5 volts. 7805 IC do not require additional components to provide a constant, regulated source of power.

RFID Reader
It is a technology is used for automatically identifying a person, a package or an item. RFID tags are small transponders (combined radio receiver and transmitter) that will transmit identity information over a short distance, when asked.

WORKING
1. Firstly users have to show their Tags to RFID reader and then required to press their corresponding passwords.

2. If user have authentic tag, doors will be open allow his/her to enter. but if any user tries to enter by using illegal tag and press the wrong password more than 3 times buzzer will alarm the owners. 3. At the doors we use opto coupler which senses the motion of user and automatically switch on the fan and light.

ADVANTAGES
RFID tags can be read/write devices; the RFID reader can communicate with the tag, and alter as much of the information as the tag design will allow. Strengthen security against theft and counterfeiting. Identifies items even when theyre moving. You can get your own application developed. Easy to install & stores useful information on active tags.

DISADVANTAGES
RFID systems are often more expensive than barcode systems. Can be less reliable. RFID tags are usually larger than barcode labels. More than one tag can respond at the same time.
