Johann Gutenberg invented the first printing press and fonts, though his original font is unknown. Susan Kare created different fonts for early Apple computers. Papyrus and Helvetica are two of the most famous and widely used fonts, while Curlz MT and Papyrus are also controversial due to being overused. A font poll showed Bank Gothic, Papyrus, Comic Sans MS, Times New Roman, and Brush Script MT as the most favorite fonts.

Johann Gutenberg
He invented fonts
He is famous for printing the bible

He wanted a way to make books look like they were hand-written but actually printed
His first font (and only font) is unknown, because he did not think of fonts looking different so he did not make a name

Susan Kare
First person to make different fonts on Apple in the 8Os She was going to make fonts named after cities in the suburbs of Philadelphia but Jobs did not like it he said it had to be more famous cities like Chicago and Venice She is also a graphic designer

Papyrus
Some people think Papyrus is overused and there are websites against it Invented by Chris Costello in 1982 Ancient Egyptians used a plant called papyrus to make books and paper, the words looked like this that is where Papyrus got its name and what it looks like

Helvetica
It is the top most used font by graphic designers (the 2-7 are Trajan, Garamond, Futura, Bodoni, Brickham Script Pro, and Frutiger) Invented in 1957 by Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffmann in Munchenstein, Switzerland Within a decade of its release, Helvetica became the most well-known and popular font Helvetica means Swiss in Latin

Curlz MT
Steve Matteson and Carl Crossgrove invented Curlz MT in 1995
Like Papyrus, people are against using Curlz MT Curlz MTs most unique aspect is its serifs (the curly parts at different parts of the letters)
