Function of card in Transcoder(XC)
EPG -Enhance Generic Process
EPG -OMP Operation & Maintenance Processor (OMP) control all the Transcoder O&M functionality. EPG -FEP Front End Processor control the BTS links. EPG -CPP Call Processing Processor control call processing within its cage.
HXCDR
Convert the 64 kbps timeslots from serial to parallel data onto the TDM bus. Also performs speech encoding and decoding and monitoring the traffic channels to minimized audio interruption. All PCM and compressed speech traffic enter and exit in the HXCDR.
DSW
-Read the information off the TDM bus and put it onto the HXCDR for speech processing. It also place the information back onto the TDM bus.
T43
-Provides impedance matching between the span line and the MSI card. The impedance can be 75 Ohms (T43) or 120 Ohms (BIB)
MSI -Convert traffic from the TDM bus to the T1/E1 serial link to the BTS or MSC.
BTC
-Bus Termination Card. One on each end of the XC cage. -Provides termination to the bus.
Transcoder - PSI Attributes
