BROADCASTING
International Cricket Council has sold the rights for broadcasting of 2011 Cricket World Cup for around US$ 2 Billion to ESPN Star Sports and Star Cricket. The tournament would be broadcast all around the world in about 220 countries For the first time, the Cricket World Cup will be broadcasted in High Definition (HD) format. Live matches will also be shown by 3G mobile streaming for the first time.
AMBASSADOR
The official event ambassador for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 is Sachin Tendulkar. He will promote and support various ICC initiatives for the tournament.
TROPHY
The ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy is a running trophy, presented to the winning team since 1999 . It was designed by Garrard & Co within 2 months
PRIZE MONEY
The 2011 Cricket World Cup winning team would be taking home a prize money of US$ 3 million. US$ 1.5 million for runner-up International Cricket Council deciding to double the total allocation for the coveted tournament to US$ 10 million. The decision was taken at the ICC Board meeting which was held in Dubai on April 20, 2010 The total prize money on offer for the tournament for the teams placing from 1st to 8th is US$7.48 million

Advertisement Cost
World Cup broadcaster ESPN Star Sports if India reaches the knockout stages, as the spot rate for advertisements could then touch up to Rs. 24 lakh per 10 seconds. Companies like Hero Honda, Parle Products, ITC, Jaypee Cement, Reliance Mobile, Pepsi, Tata Motors and Pidilite Industries have signed up as sponsors on DD. Industry sources said ESPN is estimated to have garnered about Rs. 75 crore from ad spots on DD, while it is targetting Rs. 750 crore from the World Cup on its own.
Betting cost
Two days to the biggest cricket carnival in the world and underground bookmakers or bookies have already put bets worth millions of dollars on the World Cup winner. According to one estimate, nearly Rs. 40,000 crore could exchange hands through illegal betting in this World Cup. And if the betting odds are any indication then team India is most likely to grab the Cup.
Expenses on Umpires
The Umpire selection panel selected 18 umpires excluding a reserve umpire, Enamul Haque to officiate at the World Cup: 5 from Australia, 6 from Asia, 3 from England, 2 from New Zealand and 1 each from South Africa and West Indies.
