● William Shakespeare was a famous English
poet, playwright, and actor who still remains influential in modern times. ● He was born on April 23, 1564 in Stratford- upon-Avon. ● Shakespeare wrote a total of 39 plays, 154 sonnets, and two long narrative poems. Shakespeare’s Early Life: ● William Shakespeare was the eldest of eight siblings, born to John and Mary Shakespeare. ● John Shakespeare was a glove maker, while his mother, Mary was the daughter of a farmer. ● William attended King’s New School, now known as King Edward VI School, where he was taught Latin, rhetoric, and classical literature. ● Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway at the age of 18 in 1582 and later gave birth to three children. Shakespeare’s Career: ● Shakespeare had moved to London in the late 1580s-1590s to pursue a career in theatre. ● He then started to get recognized for his work as both an actor and playwright. ● He became a business partner in the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, an acting company that performed for Queen Elizabeth I. ● In 1599, he helped build the Globe Theatre, where many of his famous plays were to be performed. Shakespeare’s Major Achievements: ● William wrote 39 plays and 154 sonnets, including some of his most famous works like Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and Macbeth. ● He wrote two long narrative poems, Venus and Adonis (1593), and The Rape of Lucrece (1594) when theatre’s had shut down due to the Bubonic Plague, and they became really popular at the time. Shakespeare’s Inventions: ● William Shakespeare invented over 1,700 words in English, a lot of which are used and are more common today. ● He also introduced many idioms, such as “love is blind” or “eating me out of house and home” “ Not marble, nor the gilded monuments of princes shall outlive this powerful rhyme.” - Sonnet 55 Influence in future:- ● He has created major influence in the literature by changing the english speaking words and also by creating new words. ● He had build great influence in english language because during that time the grammar and its rules were not standardized.

and his plays and poems. ● Shakespeare's plays explore themes like love, betrayal, and ambition that are relevant across centuries. ● Shakespeare's language is gorgeous and creative, and we still use many of his phrases today. ● His plays enrich our understanding of language and how words can convey deep emotions. ● And his famous poems and plays. Poetry In 1593 and 1594, Shakespeare wrote his first two poems, “Venus and Adonis” and “The Rape of Lucrece.” Between 1593 and 1601, Shakespeare composed his sonnets, 154 of which were eventually published in 1909. Each sonnet comprises three quatrains (four-line verses) and one couplet (two successive lines of verse). Shakespeare’s sonnets examine the passage of time and the failure of language to immortalize beauty and love. The sonnets fall into two groups: sonnets 1-126, which address a handsome and noble young man, and sonnets 127-152, which refer to a “dark lady” whom the poet loved in spite of himself. One of his most famous poems on love:-

William shakespeare and theater:- ● In 1594, Shakespeare joined the Lord Chamberlain’s Men acting troupe. ● By 1599, the troupe had enough money to build the globe theater ● In 1603, the lord chamberlain’s men became the king's men. ● In 1608, the king’s men performing at the blackfriars theater and the Globe. English standard ● Shakespeare contributed to the standardization of the english language in the 17th and 18th centuries. ● As his work gained importance correctly spelling words became more common. ● He created compound words, adverbs and adjectives from verbs. ● Shakespeare added suffix and prefixes to many words.
