Final Project Review 2
Final Project Review 2
• The system detects distress using abnormal physiological data (e.g., elevated heart rate) and motion
patterns, triggering automatic SMS alerts with location details.
• A manual SOS button ensures user-initiated help, while RF communication allows local alert
broadcasting. Machine learning models like Decision Tree and Random Forest enhance threat
detection accuracy.
• The device also features a buzzer for self-defense and operates offline for reliability in low-network
zones.
• Integration of IoT, GPS, GSM, wearable devices, and biometric sensors has enabled real-time
monitoring and emergency alerts, making modern safety devices more effective and proactive.
• Many current devices require manual activation, depend on smartphones or strong network
connections, and lack features like automated evidence collection or offline functionality.
• The project proposes a smart wearable device using Arduino and Python, incorporating biometric
sensors, AI/ML for behavior analysis, GSM for offline alerts, and blockchain for secure data
handling, aiming to offer a reliable, autonomous safety and health monitoring system for women.

• Lack of Automated Threat Detection – Needs manual activation, which may not be
possible in critical situations.
• Limited Alert Mechanism – Sends only predefined messages without live tracking.
Mobile Tracking Apps: It require both the user and their contacts to have the app
installed, limiting their effectiveness in emergencies.
RFID and GPS Technology: Help track a person’s location but have limitations such as
signal interference, and potential unauthorized access.
Shake2Safety : Send SOS alerts by shaking the phone or pressing the power button.
Buzzer and Location Sending: Here a buzzer sounds an alarm, and the location is sent
to nearby authorities or emergency contacts for help
• Offline Functionality and GSM Integration : The system ensures emergency messaging and
real-time alerts via GSM, enabling functionality even in areas with poor or no internet
connectivity.
• Machine Learning for Behavioral Analysis : The system learns user behavior patterns to detect
anomalies, predict potential threats, and trigger proactive safety alerts.
• Blockchain-Based Data Security : This ensures tamper-proof storage of emergency alerts and
evidence, enhancing reliability and preventing data manipulation.
• Integrate Health Monitoring & Smart Connectivity to incorporate sensors to monitor vital
signs such as heart rate and stress levels while enabling seamless integration with Safe
Home systems and IoT platforms for enhanced functionality.
• Ensure User-Centric Design & Data Security by developing a comfortable, stylish, and
energy-efficient wearable device with secure cloud storage for incident data, ensuring
reliability, privacy, and long-term usability.
Arduino and Raspberry-pi based low-cost devices to obtain the heart rate, blood pressure, body
temperature, oxygen level, & the GPS location of a person.
It is interfaced with biometric sensors, including the MAX30102 for body temperature and heart
rate, a GPS module (NEO6M) for tracking location, and a GSM module (SIM800C) for
transmitting emergency alerts.
For wireless connection and instant user alerting, other modules such as RF
transmitters/receivers and buzzers are included.
1.Decision Tree
Based on biometric sensor inputs (heart rate, body temperature, movement, etc.), decision
trees can be used to categorize events and determine when to sound an emergency warning.
2.Random Forest
Advanced Threat Detection: By merging several decision trees, Random Forest can be
utilized for more precise classification. It lessens the possibility of incorrect classification
brought on by erratic sensor data.
The proposed IoT based women's safety device successfully demonstrates an integrated,
real time solution for personal security, combining wearable technology with GPS
tracking, GSM communication, biometric sensors, and Android mobile application
support. By enabling immediate alert generation and precise location sharing, the system
offers proactive protection in distress situations. Through the use of embedded
components and IoT infrastructure, it ensures rapid threat detection and swift emergency
response, thereby enhancing the safety and autonomy of women in both urban and remote
environments. This project lays the foundation for future advancements, such as AI based
threat analysis and cloud enabled data storage, to make personal safety devices more
intelligent, scalable, and accessible.
