INTRODUCTION
What is nano? What is Nano-technology? History of Nano-technology. Why we need nano-technology?

Applications Implications of Nanotechnology The nano-factory

Simply stated, it is the world of the very small things, such as molecules and atoms. A nanometer is one billionth of a meter.

Nano Technology

Nanotechnology deals with the study of Materials of size 10-9 m. Nanotechnology is the fun and the easiest way to explore the science of matters smallest particles. The Nanotechnology is the branch of science & engineering that deals with things smaller than 100 nanometers. Nanotechnology creates and uses structures that have novel properties because of their small size. Nanotechnology is not just the science but it also touches the on a variety of science such as physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering , microbiology and so on.

Some definitions of nanotech also include a reference to molecular systems and devices.

A nanometer-sized particle is also smaller than a living cell and can be seen only with the most Powerful Microscopes available today.
A sheet of paper is about100000 nanometers thick. The width of a human hair is approximately 80000 nanometers thick. This is about one hundred thousand times smaller than the diameter of a human hair.

The word nanotechnology first appears in Richard Feynmanns lecture Theres plenty of room at the bottom on December 29, 1959. The term "nano-technology" had been coined in 1974 by Norio Taniguichi to describe semiconductor processes involving control on the order of a nanometer. Researcher K. Eric Drexler was the first person to popularize this technology in the early 1980s. 1985 Buckyball - Scientists at Rice University and University of Sussex discover C60 1991 Carbon nanotube discovered by S.
