1.A single ratio does not generally provide sufficient information from
which to judge the overall performance of the firm.
2.The ratios being compared should be calculated using financial
statements dated at the same point in time during the year.
3.It is preferable to use audited financial statements.
4.The financial data being compared should have been developed in
the same way.
5.Results can be distorted by inflation.
