Atm

The document discusses the technology behind future automatic teller machines (ATMs). It describes how ATMs will use more advanced identification methods like smart cards with chips instead of magnetic strips. It also outlines the internal components of ATMs like microcontrollers, memory, processing units, and communication interfaces that allow customers to access financial transactions without human assistance. The document concludes that embedded systems incorporating computers will continue to simplify device design and provide more functionality for customers.

Jodhpur National University

Submitted by:RAHUL GEHLOT ECE FINAL Year CB-1

An automatic teller machine (ATM) is a computerized telecommunications device that provides the customers of a financial institution with access to financial transactions in a public space

without the need for a human clerk or

bank teller.

A N ATM TECHNOLOGY IS

On most ATMs, the customer is identified by inserting a plastic ATM card with a
Magnetic stripe. Plastic smartcard with a chip. that contains a unique card number and some security information, such as an expiration date.

Security is provided by the customer entering a personal identification number (PIN).

CONCLUSION

Finally we can say that embedded systems are electronics devices that incorporate a computer(usually a microprocessor) within their implementation. A computer is used in such devices primarily as a means to simplify the system design and to provide flexibility. Often the user of the device is not even aware that a computer is present. The day is not far when almost all automobiles would interact with computer on dashboards from ordering a pizza to booking tickets at nearest theater.
