DLD Lab

The document outlines a project for a car parking system designed to efficiently manage vehicle parking using sensors and LED indicators. It aims to assist drivers in locating available parking spaces while enhancing vehicle safety and reducing search time. The system utilizes various components including photoresistors, logic gates, and LEDs to indicate parking slot availability and manage vehicle entry and exit.

Project: Car parking System
Introduction:
The management and organization of vehicles within specific regions is called a
parking system.
This can be done manually or automatically.
A parking system makes more efficient use of space, increases security, and
assists with vehicle movement in a physical area.
A parking system saves time that would have otherwise been spent searching
for places to park.
Objective:
 It solves the problem of drivers not knowing where to park, especially in places
like malls, offices, and schools.
The system uses sensors (photoresistor) to detect if a slot is occupied or vacant,
and then shows the result using LED lights.
Enhance the safety of the vehicles in the parking zone.
Assist the drivers to save time with automation systems or by guidance.
System Behavior and Light Indicators:
When a parking slot is free, a green LED turns on to
guide
the driver to that spot.
 As the driver enters the parking area by indicators
If slot is filled then light will be red
light to show that no space is currently available.
How the Lights Work

How the Lights Work

• Main Green Light → Turns on when at least one parking
slot is available, indicating that parking is open.
• Main Red Light → Turns on when all parking slots are
occupied, showing that the parking area is full.
• Green Light → Means a spot is empty and ready to use.
• Red Light → Means all parking spots are filled, and the
driver should wait or search for parking elsewhere.

Photoresistor (LDR) :
A resistor that changes its resistance when the amount of light falling on it ,
known as photoresistor or light dependent resistor
Resistor:
Controlls flow of currents.
Also give specific voltage to transistor
Working

1. Logic Gate ICs

 U1 - XD74LS32 (Quad 2-input OR Gate)
It is for accumulation of logic signals to find exit condition
 U2 - XD74LS00 (Quad 2-input NAND Gate)
It is for making basic logic for bounce noise
 U3 - XD74LS08 (Quad 2-input AND Gate)
It is to check condition for entering or exit signal
2. Photoresistors / IR Sensors (PR1, PR2, PR3)
 Located on gates , behave as entry and exit sensors
 When a car enter, color changes
 PR1 and PR2 might detect entry; PR2 and PR3 could detect exit.
3. LEDs (D1, D2, D3, D4, etc.)
• Represent status indicators like:
• Available slots
• Entry allowed
• Exit allowed
• Lot full indication

4. Resistors (R1–R47)
• Controlls Electric Current.
• 10kΩ usedfor pull-up/pull-down resistors, and 330Ω for LED current limiting.
.
5. Power Supply (BAT6+ / BAT6−)
• Provides +5V and GND for powering logic ICs and LEDs.

6. Connectors (CN1)
• Used to connect cirecuit with external sensors
Circuit Diagrams

• We have created only 2 diagrams:

• 1:Schematic Diagram

• 2:Pcb

Schematic Diagram:
• It is for checking logical connections of components
(LDRs, resistors, logic gates, LEDs, etc
Printed Circuit Board(PCB)

Traces actual location of componenets and copper tracks

It is for making the board and also for designing it by using like Proteus, EasyEDA,
KiCad, or Fritzing.
Applications Of Car Parking System

• Hospitals

• Universities

• Offices
Conclusion of the Car Parking System Project

It records vehicle entry amd exit

Uses gates AND,OR,NOR
Sensors
Photoresistors
Catch entry and exit by sensors
Use AND , OR , NAND gate to procedure sensor signals
Show parking place using LED indicators.
Stop entry when the slot is full.
