Separating mixtures: mixtures are made of compenants that are mixed physically.

1. Filtration (penurasan) - Fitration is used to make water clean or to separate a liquid and a solid. that does not dissolve in that liquid. 2. Evaporation (penyejatan) - Another method to separate solids from liquids in a mixture is by evaporation. 3. Distillation (penyulingan) 4.Separating funnel (pengasingan melalui corong funnel) - Separates liquids that do not mix with each other. (asingkan minyak dan air) 5. Separating by magnet 6. Sieving ( tapis) -Another method to separate a mixture of solid and solid.

How would you separate the mixture of sand, iron fillings, sand salt ?
1. Firstly, separate iron fillings using magnet. 2. Mix the sand and salt with water then stir using a glass rod until the salt dissolves. 3. Carry out filtration to separate the sand from the salt solution. 4. Carry out evaporation to separate the salt from the water.

Preservation and Conservation of resources on Earth


Natural resources are essential for sustaining life and important for our everyday life. Therefore, we need to protect the natural resources from being destroyed to make sue that they will be available for future generation.

Preservation
The process of working towards protecting the resources so that they are not damaged and destroyed.

Conservation
Managing and using the resources wisely, so that they are not wasted or lost.

To preserve and conserve the resources, we need to:


Reduce the amount of resources used. Reuse the resources instead of throwing them away. For example, old unfinished exercise books can be used as note book. Recycle waste into reusable materials. For example, recycling newspapers will help reduce the cutting down of tree
