VM Infrastructure Creation,

Installation, and Configuration

What is VM Infrastructure?
VM infrastructure allows us to run multiple operating systems on a single physical machine
using virtualization. Each VM behaves like a separate computer, sharing physical resources
while staying isolated.

Each VM has its own CPU, RAM, and storage ,virtually created, and behaves like a real PC.
This setup is widely used in IT for testing, development, and cloud environments because it
saves space, reduces cost, and increases flexibility."
Using VirtualBox as the hypervisor, each VM operates
independently, making it ideal for testing, development,
and learning environments.

• VirtualBox manages and runs virtual machines

• Each VM acts like a separate computer with its own OS
• Efficient use of hardware resources
• Provides isolation between different environments
• Great for safe testing and software development
Why VirtualBox and Ubuntu?
For my VM infrastructure setup, I chose VirtualBox and Ubuntu because they are ideal for learning and testing in
a virtual environment

VirtualBox Ubuntu
• Free and open-source Linux OS
• Free and open-source
• Lightweight-runs smoothly on limited resources
• Cross-platform (works on Windows, macOS, Linux)
• Very beginner-friendly with a simple UI (esp. Ubuntu Desktop)
• User-friendly interface for managing VMs
• Large online community and extensive documentation
• Supports snapshots for easy backups and rollbacks
• Great for learning Linux and command line basics
• Highly reliable and stable for development/testing
• Widely used in real-world servers and cloud platforms
• Actively maintained by Oracle
• Comes with pre-installed software and supports many
• Easy to configure virtual networks and shared folders
