Zimbabwe Map

• Land Locked Country

• Zimbabwe achieved majority
rule and internationally
recognized independence in
April 1980 following a long
period of colonial rule and a
15-year period of white-
dominated minority rule,
instituted after the minority
regime’s so-called Unilateral
Declaration of Independence
(UDI) in 1965.

Land and Climate
• Zimbabwe covers 400,ooo square kilometres. The landscape varies from flat
and rolling ranges, to farmland and mountains, all marked by granite
outcroppings. Points of geographical and scenic interest include the
magnificent Victoria Falls ( 【360° VR】维多利亚瀑布。非洲最大的瀑布。 5K航拍视频_哔哩哔哩_
bilibili) and manmade Lake Kariba on the Zambezi River .
• Zimbabwe, lying north of the Tropic of Capricorn, is completely within the
tropics but enjoys subtropical conditions because of its high average
elevation. Toward the end of the hot, dry months, which last from August to
October, monsoon winds that have crossed the Indian Ocean and
Mozambique result in intense orographic rainfall when they meet the
rampart formed by the eastern highlands.
Plants and Animal Life
• Zimbabwe is predominantly savanna (tropical grassland), with a
generous tree growth encouraged by the wet summers. The only true
forests, however, are the evergreen forests of the eastern border.
• Hwange National Park, holding some of the densest remaining wildlife
concentrations in Africa, has an area of more than 5,000 square miles
and stretches from the Bulawayo–Victoria Falls railway line westward
to the Botswana border. Among the flesh-eating animals found there,
and occasionally elsewhere, are the lion, leopard, cheetah, serval,
civet, aardvark, spotted and brown hyena, black-backed and side-
striped jackal, zorille, ratel, bat-eared fox, ant bear, and scaly anteater.
Settlement patterns, Ethnic
Composition and Religion
• Zimbabwe may be divided into six different regions of agricultural potential,
with the amount of rainfall constituting the determining factor in land use.
• More than two-thirds of Zimbabweans speak Shona as their first language,
while about one out of six speak Ndebele. 16 languages Chewa, Chibarwe,
English, Kalanga, Khoisan, Nambya, Ndau, Ndebele, Shangaan, Shona, sign
language, Sotho, Tonga, Tswana, Venda, and Xhosa.
• Zimbabwe is a highly religious country. 84% of the population aged 15 years
and above are Christians. The largest proportion of Christians belong to the
Apostolic Sect. (34%), followed by Pentecostals (20%), and Protestants
(16%). Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, and New Religious Movements
are minority groups in Zimbabwe

addition of primary commodities could potentially be a
good investment, areas such as fero-chrome value-

Business innovation in
Zimbabwe
• E-commerce has not yet taken off in Zimbabwe because of
a low internet penetration (around 42 percent) and a low
diffusion of the culture of online purchasing in the
country.
• eCommerce is limited to urban centers, with much of it
taking place on social media platforms, such as WhatsApp,
using cash on delivery or mobile payments rather than
credit card transactions on traditional websites.
