Computer science is the study of
computers, software, and
everything that helps to process
information automatically.

Science
1. The Computer
It's a machine that can receive, process, store, and send
information. It is made of:
2. Hardware:
the physical parts you can touch (keyboard, mouse, screen,
processor…).
3. Software:
the programs that make the computer work (like Word, Google
Chrome…).
4. Data
These are the pieces of information the computer uses. Everything
is written in binary (0s and 1s), because that’s what computers
understand.

It's the conductor of the computer. It makes all the programs run.
Examples: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android…

It's the art of giving instructions to the computer using special
languages like Python, Java, or HTML.

This is when we teach a computer to think a bit like a human

•Speed: Tasks can be done very quick y
(calculations, research, etc.).
•Storage: You can keep a lot of information
without taking physical space.
•Communication: Emails, social media, video
calls… you stay connected anywhere.
•Automation: Machines can do repetitive tasks
for us.
•Access to knowledge: You can learn anything,
anytime, thanks to the Internet
❌ Disadvantages
1. Dependence: People can become too addicted to
screens or the Internet.
2. Hacking and viruses: There are risks to our
personal data.
3. Social isolation: Too much screen time can
distance us from others.
4. Fast obsolescence: Technology gets old or
outdated quickly.
5. Job loss: Some human jobs are replaced by
machines.

Important?
It's part of everything today — from phones to
hospitals to space missions.
It helps us solve real-world problems: climate
change, health care, education.
It gives many career opportunities (and often
good salaries!).
