Strong Family

In general, a nuclear family consists of a
father, a mother and children. Others by
circumstances have a single parent, a
father or a mother and a child or children.
They care for each other. In most families,
the father or husband is the main provider
of the family needs.
The father usually plays the role of
breadwinner or wage earner. He works
outside the home or sometimes is engaged
in livelihood activities within the house
compound. The father also guides and
educates his children. He leads his children
by good examples and wholesome living.
The mother or wife usually does a very
meaningful kind of role: that of a home
maker. She plans and prepares meals and a
lot but varied household chores for the
family. The work of a woman at home is
mostly a work of love and care for the
family.
The children strengthen the husband-wife
relationship. They are the reason for a
strong family bond. They are trained at
earlier age necessary for growth and
development to become responsible.
Children lighten the chores at home as they
can be of help to their mother when they
Functions of the Family to the Society
1. Sexual Reproductive shows man capacity to fill
the earth with responsible constituents starting
from a family and with efforts exerted to make life
responsive for growth and development.
2. Economic which determines the family's level of
living.
3. Educational which displays the training and the
ability of the individual to transmit knowledge thus
creating or making a learned society.
4. Religious which shows the philosophy in life and
spiritual convictions of the family.
5. Political which governs and defines the existence
of man in harmony with his environment, society
and fellow being because of the established laws of
the land.
How to Build a Strong
Family
1. Establish Clear Communication
- Practice active listening and open
communication.
- Encourage family members to express
their thoughts and feelings.
- Set clear expectations and boundaries.
2. Spend Quality Time Together
- Regularly schedule family activities and
outings.
- Engage in shared hobbies and interests.
- Prioritize quality time over screen time.
