INTRODUCTION
 Our project Is based on the design and
analysis of the G+3 Residential Building.
 Analysis is done through Using The E tabs.
 Notation adopted through Out the project

is same as IS-456-2000.
LITERATURE REVIEW
 Mr. RAMESH BARRAGAN, Mr. BHARAT KONAR, KIRAN
BABU (2022)

This paper deals with the analysis and design of residential building
using ETABS software. They took into consideration of functional and
structural aspects whale designing the building. This project consists of
only ground floor. In the structure the masonry wall was used as filler
wall and in packages slab loads were applied as floor loads. Their
process of structural design consisted of 5 units. They took all slabs as
continuous slabs.

 AYUSH CHANDRAKAR, MANAS RATHORE (2021):

This paper deals with the analysis and design of multi-storeyed

residential building (G+5) using ETABS software. They assumed.
Continuous slabs over interior supports and beams were also assumed
to be continuous. They considered dead load, live load, wind load,
imposed load, earthquake load. The shape of building was regularly
(rectangular). Grade of the concrete used is M25 and Unit weight of
concrete is 25KN/m3. They considered the load combination for seismic
and wind load analysis of the building
CODES
 IS-456:2000:Design Code For RCC.
 IS-875(PART1):Code For Dead Loads.
 IS-875(PART2):Code For Imposed Loads.
 IS-875(PART3): Code For Wind Loads.
STATEMENT OF PROJECTS
 Utility Of Building: Residential Of Building
 No Of Storey:G+3
 Shapes Of The Building: Rectangular
 No. Of Staircases:4Nos
 Type Of Walls: Bricks Wall
MATERIAL DETAILS
 Concrete Grade : M25
 Grade Of Steel:HYSD
 Reinforcement Of Grade: Fe415
 Bearing Capacity Of Soil:200kn/m2
 Type Of Construction:RCC Farmed Structure
DIFFERENT TYPES OF LOADS ON
THE STRUCTURE:
 Dead Loads
 Imposed Loads
 Wind Loads
 Live loads
DEADS LOAD
 Involves Self weight of
 RCC Slab
 Beam & Columns
 Plinth Walls
IMPOSED LOADS
 Imposed also known live loads
 Load over the floor i.e load of person it is

calculated as kvn/m2
 This load is applied over the length of

structure
WINDS LOADS
 Winds is air in motion
 Winds loads are calculated according to

IS:87(Part 3)
 Internally of wind & exposure are applied in

the direction as required

LOAD COMBINATION
 Analysis of a building with respect to dead load and
live load, the code refers following load combination.
 1.1.5(DL+IL)

2.1.5(DL+Pi+WL)

For seismic load analysis of a building, the code refers

following load combination

1.1.5 (DL+1L)
2.1.2 (DL+ LL/EL)
3.1.5 (DL +/-EL)
4.0.9(DL +/-EL)
 For wind load analysis of a building, the
code refers following load combination
 1. DL+LL
 2. DL+WL
 3. DL+0.8LL+0.8WL
Design Principal, Assumption &
Notation Assumed
 The notation adopted throughout the work is
same as in IS.456-2000
 ASSUMPTION IN DESIGN
 The notation adopted throughout the work is same as in IS
456-2000
 Using partial safety factoriesed loads in accordance with
clause 36.4 of IS 456-2000 Partial safety factor for material
in accordance with clause 36.4.2 IS 456-2000is taken 1.5
for concrete & 1.15 for steel
 Using partial safety factores in accordance with clause
36.4 of IS 456-2000 combination of load
 (DL+LL)1.5
 (DL+L+WL)1.2
Objectives of structural design
 The main objectives is to do planning, analysis and design
of the structure having passed all the safety requirements
and checks. The detailed objectives involved are as follows:
 To prepare the plan for site (37×57) west facing for G+3
residential Building with 3BHK
 To locate the position of structural elements (column &
beam) and get the drawing using AutoCAD 2017.
 To prepare the 3D model of the structure by using the
ETABS-2019 Software for analysts, and design through the
method Of linear static analysis.
 To design a structural elements like slab, beam, column,
staircase and footing as per Indian standard IS.456-2000&
SP 16.
E-TABS
 ETABS stand for extended 3D analysis of building
system. ETABS is an engineering software product
that multi-story building analysis and design.
Modelling tools and code-based load analysis
methods and solution techniques, all coordinate
with the grid-like geometry unique to this class of
structure E-TABS is a software company with its
head in London, England.
Advantages of using E tabs
 Graphic input and editing for easy and fast model
generation .
 3D generation of the model through plan views
and elevation.
 Fast model generation using the concept of
Similar stories.
 Easy editing through the move, Merge, and Copy
commands.
 Fast object creation with one click of the mouse
 Multiple viewing windows.
 3Dview with zoom and pan capability.
 Another advantage of ETABS is even after the
design, properties of the members can be
updated if required. The following properties can
be update
 1. Column Position

 2 Column Shape

 3.Column Size

 4.Load Cases

 5.Support case

It is very easy to deal with this software and we

don't have any best alternative to this.
AUTO CAD Application

 Auto-cad as an architectural planning tool

Auto-cad as an engineering drafting tool
Auto-cad as a graphic design tool
 Auto-cad in 3D Printing
 Auto-cad in the fashion industry
 Auto-cad as industrial design tool

ANALYSIS
 Analysis is done by E tabs
 Once the loads & load combination are

assigned to the structure, analysis is to be

done
 Analysis is done for RCC structure
CONCLUSION
 Planning of the building and reinforcement details of structural
elements (beam, column, footing, slab & staircase) were drawn
using AutoCAD 2017, thus making it Productive.
 Analysis of framed structure for the residential building was done
by using ETABS2019, which is time-saving and effective, as manual
analysis of an entire building takes many weeks to complete which
troublesome.
 All the structural members are checked to satisfy the serviceability
criteria and hence provided the required dimensions for members.
 All the members were designed by limit state method, which is
more rational and realistic in comparison with other design
methods.
 Design and other prerequisites of a building before construction
using software's and as per IS code provisions gives an
approximate quantity of materials required preventing over
expenditure
