Components of a Computer

Hardware Components

1. Input Devices
• Devices used to input data into the computer.
• Examples: Keyboard, Mouse, Microphone, Camera, Touchscreen.
2. Processing Unit
• CPU (Central Processing Unit): The brain of the computer, processes
data and runs instructions.
• GPU (Graphics Processing Unit): Handles graphics and video
rendering.

3. Memory and Storage


• RAM (Random Access Memory): Temporary memory used for active
tasks.
• Storage Devices:
• HDD (Hard Disk Drive): Large-capacity storage.
• SSD (Solid-State Drive): Faster and more durable storage.
4. Output Devices
• Devices used to display or output data.
• Examples: Monitor, Printer, Speakers, Projector.

5. Motherboard
• The main circuit board that connects all components and allows them to
communicate.

6. Power Supply Unit (PSU)
