INTRODUCTION

The Finance Tracker Web Application is a personal finance


management tool. It allows users to track their expenses by category,
date, and payment method. The application provides interactive
dashboards and statistics, helping users visualize their spending habits
with daily and monthly charts. It ensures a secure and better control
over personal budgets.
PROBLEM STATEMENT

In today’s fast-paced world, managing personal finances has


become increasingly challenging. People often struggle to track their daily
expenses, identify spending patterns, and make informed financial
decisions. There is a need for a simple, user-friendly platform to help
individuals monitor and analyse their expenses effectively.
Objective

1. Provide platform for tracking income and expenses.

2. Enable users to register, log in, and log out securely.

3. Generate daily and monthly spending charts for better insight into financial habits.

4. Allow users to add, view, and delete their daily transactions with details such as
date, amount, category, and payment method.
5. Show detailed statistics such as total spending, category-wise spending, and top 5
expense categories.
Methodology

1. Made pages for login, registration, and


dashboard
2. Allowed users to add and delete their
expenses
3. Used sessions to keep users logged in
4. Showed data using charts for better
understanding
5. Built a page to show spending by category
FEATURES
ADVANTAGES

DISADVANTAGES

2. No email or OTP verification for user accounts
3. Only one role (normal user) – no admin or multi-role
support
4. Transactions must be added manually
5. User is logged out when the browser is closed (default
session)
CONCLUSION

The Finance Tracker interface successfully delivers a user-friendly


platform for managing personal finances, combining essential features like
expense tracking, income recording, and visual analytics in a secure, web-
based environment.
