 Hospital Emergency Codes are used in hospitals worldwide

to alert staff to various emergencies.

 The use of codes is intended to convey essential information


quickly and with minimal misunderstanding to staff, while
preventing stress and panic among visitors to the
hospitals.

 This codes may be posted on placards throughout the


hospital, or printed on employee identification badges for
ready reference.
All Codes of the Hospital
Code RED: Fire
Code Yellow: Spillage
Code Blue: Cardiac Arrest
Code Brown: Patient Missing
Code Pink: Child Abduction
Code Black: Bomb threat
How to Activate Emergency Codes?

• Define and clarify emergency situation.


• Confirm the code colour.
• Call #8000
• Inform and determine the emergency code.
• Specify the location of the emergency, e.g. 1st
floor; department and room no. 19
• Give your name and ID.
• Repeat to confirm a clear massage.
CODE RED: Fire
Code Red should be initiated when one of the
following conditions exist:
 Visible smoke or fire
 Smelling of smoke or burning
 Feeling unusual heat on walls and doors
To initiate Code Red, implement the “R. A. C. E.”
strategy:
Code Yellow: Spillage
Blood /Chemical
Code Yellow: Spillage Kit
1% Hypochlorite Solution
Blotting Paper/ News Paper/ Tissue Paper
Surgical Gloves for Non Glass spill
Industrial Gloves for Glass spill
Grown, Goggles, Shoes Cover, Mask
Dust Pan with duster
Red & Yellow Bin Bags
Sign Board
Code Blue: Cardiac Arrest
Code Brown: Patient Missing
Code Pink :Child Abduction
