Setting of Standards in Google meet participation
First, use laptop or any gadget with specification
that support the virtual learning.
Second, ensure successful registration on or before
the set date.
Third, log in 15 minutes before the set time.
Fourth, if you want to ask questions or clarifications
about our lesson you just type it on the chat box.
Fifth, if you are called to recite open your video cam
and microphone.
Lastly, Observe virtual; etiquettes
Learning Objectives:
• Determine the greatest common factor (GCF)
and least common multiple (LCM) of two
numbers using listing, prime factorization and
continuous division.
• Give the greatest common factor (GCF) and
least common multiple (LCM) of two numbers
• Solve greatest common factor (GCF) and least
common multiple (LCM)
Direction: Answer the division facts triangle.
Write your answer inside the chat box
Games “Naming the card”
Pick two numbers from the card and give
the GCF and LCM. Write your answer in the
chat box
How did you get the GCF?
What about the LCM?
What do we mean by greatest
common factors, abbreviated as
GCF?
What about the meaning of
LCM?
How do you tell the difference
between GCF and LCM?
Presentation

Arnold helps his father in their bakeshop. They bake 60

cupcakes and 96 cookies. They plan to pack them
separately in small boxes. What is the biggest number of
cupcakes and cookies that can be placed in box?
 What did Arnold and his father
bake?
 How many cupcakes were baked?
 How many cookies were baked?
 What plans do Arnold and his
father have for the cupcakes and
cookies?
 How will you find the solution to
the problem?
Performing the Activities
Ask the learners to perform the task.
Solution 1: Finding the Common Factors
and Greatest Common Factor (GCF) by
listing the factors of 60 and 96.

Solution 2: Finding the Greatest Common

Factor (GCF) of 60 and 96 by
prime factorization. Writing each number as
a product of its prime factors using a factor
tree.
Performing the Activities

Solution 3: Finding the GCF OF 60 and

96 by continuous division.

Processing the Activities

DISCUSSION
List the factors of 60:

1,2,3,4,5,6,10,12,15,20,30,60

List the factors of 96

1,2,3,4,6,8,12,16,24,32,48,96

find the largest factor - 12

…or do prime factorization. Circle all the primes
the 2 numbers have in common and multiply
one set of them to get your GCF.

 Before watching video
ask this question.

What other method can

be used to find a number's
GCF and LCM?
Let us watch the video on finding Greatest
Common Factor (GCF) and the Least Common
Multiple (LCM) of a number using continuous
division
After watching the video ask the following
questions.
 How did you get the GCF of
24 and 60?
 How about the LCM of 24 and
60?
 What method did you use?
On Process ( Skills and attitudes)

 How did you obtain your answers?

 What are the various methods for determining
the Common Factors, GCF and LCM?
 How does the listing approach work?
 What about continuous division and prime
factorization?
 What is the most basic method for determining
common factors, GCF and LCM?
Drill (In Content)
B.List all the factors of each number.
Then, find the common factors and the
Greatest common factor of each pair of
number.

5) 36 and 42 10) 16 and 56
 What do we mean when we say
"greatest common factors"?
What exactly does LCM (least
common multiple) mean?
 What steps are involved in determining
the common factors, greatest common
factors, and least common multiples of a
number?
 Factors" are numbers we can multiply together to get
another number. When we find the factors of two or more
numbers, and then find some factors are the same
("common"), then they are the "common factors".

 The largest of those common factors is the Greatest

Common Factor. Abbreviated "GCF". Also called
"Highest Common Factor"

 The least common multiple of two numbers is the

“smallest non-zero common number” which is a
multiple of both the numbers.
Steps in Determining the Common Factors and Greatest
Common Factors

Step 1: List or write ALL the factors of each number.

Step 2: Identify the common factors. You can do that

by encircling each common factor or drawing a line
segment between them. It’s really up to you how you
want to mark the common factors so they stand out.
Step 3: After identifying the common factors, select or
choose the number which has the largest value. This
number will essentially be the Greatest Common
Factor (GCF).
 Which of the following is the simplest to
solve? GCF, LCM or the common
factors? Why is this so?

Do you have any further

questions about the lessons?
Is the lesson explained clearly?

Read and Solve each problem .
1.Ian and Isagani went fishing. Ian caught 21 fish and Isagani
caught 28 fish. What is the greatest number of fish each could
catch per hour, if they caught the same number of fish per hour?
2.Mr.Rojas has 2 pieces of wood for his scrabble board. One
has a width of 18 cm and the other one has 20 cm. If both sizes
of wood are to be cut into scrabble tiles of the same width
without wasting any wood, what is the greatest width into which
the woods can be cut?
