reduce pain, and restore fuction. - Prevent further disabilities - Motivate learners to be independent. - Suggest sittings positions and classroom activies. Occupational Therapists (OTs)
- Determine learners’goal in life.
-Help them perform daily activities ( self -help, employment, recreation, communication ) -Guide learners develpoing their motor skills. Environmental Modifications :
These are essential accessibility. Aside from barrier -
free bulidings : -Have classrooms located in more accessible building levels. -Relocate activities to more spacious areas. -In grouping activities, ensure enough space for collaboration. -Adjust desks,chair,and tables to the height of learners using wheelchairs.Perpare for left-handed learners. -Provide adequate floor space so learners can use wheelchairs without blocking flow of traffic. This is especially important in laboratory settings. Setting up special workstations is recommended. -Allowing spoken responses instead of written ones ( or vice versa ) -Providing a resource room for students to with on school requirements with their Individualized Education Program ( IEP ) team. Assistive Technology

designed to enchance the mobility and daily function of individuals with physical disabilities. Mobility - vary depending on individual needs. Some individuals can easily use devices, while other require more assistance. Mouth stick - a mouth-manipulated device for input control. Head Wand
- similar to a mouth stick, but manipulated by the
head. -Other mobility aids include scooters,walkers,canes, and crutches. Communication aids help those with limited mobility communicate in person or online: Speech Recognition Software

Speech Generating Device : sdtand-alone device or software (of ten on tablets or phones) for communication. Inclusive Classroom Approaches -integrated students with severe impairments into regular classrooms using stategies like smaller class sizes, adapted equipment, and individualized support, this including careful sensitive communication, and accomodation for learning and participation. To create an inclusive classroom for with physical disabilities : -observe students and offer support as needed(without assuming); -use respectful and sensitive language. -use simulation and role-playing to bulid understanding. -maintain appropriate eye contact and positioning(crouch near wheelchair users). -plan class schedules to minimize travel time. -providing accommodation for writing and notes-taking;and collaborate on assignment timelines. -pairs students with arm/dexterity challenges with able peers in lab.
