Key Cutting Edge

Integrating with BC-365 Financials

• Integrating BC-365 Financials with AllosHIS can streamline healthcare

operations by ensuring seamless dataflow between financial
administration and Medical Insurance system
7

Data Mapping
• Identify Data Entities: Determine which data entities need to be synchronized between the Medical
Insurance System and the Financial Module of BC-365, Examples are:
• Policyholder information
• Premium billing details
• Claims submissions and status
• Payment records
• Financial transactions
• Map Data Fields: Create a mapping document that specifies how data fields in the Medical
Insurance System correspond to those in the Financial ERP. For example:

• Policy ID → Account Number

• Claim Amount → Invoice Amount

• Premium Payment Date → Payment Date

8

Integration Methodology
• API Integration: Use RESTful or SOAP APIs to enable real-time data exchange. This allows both
systems to communicate and update records instantly. Example: The Medical Insurance System
can call an API on the Financial ERP to create a new invoice when a claim is approved.
• In this integration, we will use REST.
• REST is an architectural style rather than a strict protocol. It focuses on principles and constraints
for creating web services.
• RESTful services can communicate using multiple formats, including JSON, XML, HTML, and plain
text, with JSON being the most commonly used format today.
• REST is stateless, meaning each request contains all the necessary information for the server to
understand and respond. Each call is independent of any previous calls, enhancing scalability.
• Statelessness simplifies server implementation and reduces the server's memory overhead.
• REST APIs often require less bandwidth due to the lightweight nature of JSON compared to XML.
• REST allows for a greater variety of operations since it can make use of any HTTP methods.
• Security is typically handled using HTTPS for secure communication.
• Generally faster and more efficient because of the lightweight nature of communication, especially
when JSON is used.
9

Realtime Dataflow
• Claims Processing: Automatically update the Financial ERP with claim approvals and
payments once they are processed in the Medical Insurance System.
• Billing Updates: Ensure that any changes to premium amounts in the Medical Insurance
System are reflected immediately in the Financial ERP for accurate billing.
• Payment Notifications: Send payment confirmations from the Financial ERP back to the
Medical Insurance System to update claims and policyholder records.
10

Reporting & Analystics

• Financial Reporting: Generates reports on revenue, claims costs, outstanding payments,
and other financial metrics.
• Custom Dashboards: Provides real-time insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) for
management and stakeholders.
• Regulatory Reporting: Ensures compliance with financial regulations by generating
necessary reports for regulatory bodies.
11

Why choose BC-365?

• One database for all companies and no need for Medfund to buy another $20 000 or so
server. Organization will need to take advantage of the investment already made.
• Easy of doing business between Hospital and Medfund as far as intercompany transactions
are concerned
• Easy Integration with MedFund system as we are already integrating MedFund with
the Hospital system for Claims Processing
12

Conclusion
Integrating a Medical Insurance System with a Financial ERP can greatly enhance operational
efficiency and data accuracy, leading to improved financial management and customer service.

By focusing on clear data mapping, effective integration methodologies, robust security

measures, and ongoing maintenance, MedFund can create a seamless experience for both
insurance providers and policyholders. This strategic integration not only supports day-to-day
operations but also empowers MedFund with better insights into its financial health and
operational performance.

By integrating these components effectively, the system can ensure accurate billing, streamlined
claims processing, robust financial reporting, and compliance with regulations, ultimately
enhancing the financial management of MedFund operations.
