Abstract
⚫ The main aim of the paper is to process the time data
acquisition under the supervisory physical parameter of a
power induction motor.
⚫ In industries the heavy capacity induction motors are
used.
⚫ Therefore, it has essential to observe all the processes
and control the factors affecting them.
⚫ Adapting a technology like an internet of things one can
do the objective effectively, and thus record and the
control is obvious than the manpower or existing one.
Introduction
⚫ The main objective is to extend the reliability of the motor
application by using the recent technology advancement.
⚫ This work makes sure the continuous monitoring of
induction motor. By ensuring the system reliability
abnormality are easily identified and simply rectified.
⚫ As induction machine are used nearly 90% in industries,
the economic data monitoring is required.
⚫ The productivity of industries may be increased by doing
the preventive maintenance of induction machine.
⚫ By taking fortification the failure of system and value of
mental attitude power motor is protected.
⚫ The main goal of the server is to provide fast and relevant
information about the real word objective and application.
Literature Review

The majority of the project work was done in the field of induction motor
control and protection to regulate different induction motor parameters.
⚫ [1] suggested utilising an ATMega328 microprocessor to automate and
monitor induction motors. Overcurrent single phasing is protected by the
microcontroller.
⚫ [2] shows a PIC microcontroller-based control system that protects single-
phase motors from undervoltage, overvoltage, and overheating, as well as
measuring motor speed. However, the PIC microcontroller's programme
is long and has a complicated structure.
⚫ [3] presents a review paper on a microprocessor-based control system for
a three-phase induction motor fed by a PWM IGBT inverter. A
complexity issue emerges here as well.
Literature Review

⚫ [4] presents a technique for obtaining a time-protection model for an

induction motor from voltage imbalance. The approach is based on the
thermal impact of mechanical overloads and voltage imbalance conditions
on the motor.
⚫ [5] Multilevel inverters employ the Phase-shifting Pulse width
Modulation (PSPWM) approach, whereas induction motors use the Space
Vector Modulation Strategy (SVM)
Problem Statement

⚫ In today’s world, the induction motors play a vital role in

many applications.
⚫ The protection of electrical machines especially induction
motors are very much essential for any industries,
factories etc.
⚫ This project proposes a system which protects and
monitors the induction motor using IoT technology.
⚫ It comprises an IoT (Internet of Things) network to gather
the essential information such as voltage, current, speed,
temperature of the induction motor and presents the
essential details to the user through IoT.
Aim & Objectives

⚫ Aim: The main aim of the project is to process the time

data acquisition under the supervisory physical parameter
of a power induction motor.

• Objectives:
1. To protect and monitor the induction motor using Internet
of things, for data communication in industrial areas.
2. To stop the induction machine to avoid the failure of the
system automatically.
3. To measure the various motor parameters and displays
the information to the user about the motor’s present
condition.
4. To protect the motor from under voltage and over voltage.
Methodology
⚫ Unbalanced three-phase power supply, overcurrent, overvoltage, overloading,
temperatures, ambient temperature, and external moisture are all factors that
affect induction motor performance.
⚫ Condition monitoring is the process of recognizing and maintaining a
machine's operational parameters before a failure arises.
⚫ By anticipating motor health based on real-time data, it improves operation
efficiency, lowers maintenance costs, and prevents motor damage.
⚫ There are two parts to the proposed system.
⚫ The first is software, and the second is hardware, for monitoring and
controlling motors in normal and abnormal situations utilizing various sensors
and IoT.
⚫ The data from the various sensors is delivered to the controlling device, which
is microcontroller, under the hardware section. The data processing
programme is programmed into the microcontroller.
Block Diagram
Block Diagram Description

⚫ The block diagram consists of Atmega 328 smd microcontroller, voltage

sensor, current sensor, temperature sensor, induction motor, relay, LCD
display, IOT Module, Buzzer and Power Supply.
⚫ 12v 1.3A power supply is given to the system.
⚫ Voltage sensor, current sensor and temperature sensor are connected to
induction motor and controller in order to measure over/under current,
voltage and temperature of the motor.
⚫ These sensors takes values from induction motor and feds it to the
controller.
⚫ Controller checks the over/under conditions for all sensors.
⚫ If values are below or over threshold then it will Switch on Relay and
beep buzzer
⚫ LCD will display the condition.
Advantages

⚫ Highly sensitive
⚫ Fit and Forget system
⚫ Low cost and reliable circuit
⚫ Complete elimination of manpower
⚫ Can handle heavy loads up to 7A
⚫ Auto switch OFF in abnormal conditions
⚫ Auto switch ON in safe conditions
Applications

⚫ Industrial machinery
⚫ House hold items like TV, refrigerator, AC
⚫ Agriculture Motors
⚫ Water pumps
Conclusion

⚫ This Internet of Things concept is for remote detection and monitoring of

motor system problems.
⚫ The system has the ability to combine several detected parameters in real
time in order to increase the accuracy of problem identification in motors.
⚫ The motor system is monitored by measuring several factors such as
motor temperature, supply voltage, and motor current.
⚫ As a result, this system offers a greater number of fields than other
traditional techniques, allowing for alarms, alert messages, and quick
control.
⚫ The Internet of Things (IoT) is used to monitor and control the motor
remotely.
