PowerPoint
 PowerPoint is a computer application program used for slide
show presentation.
 It is abbreviated as PPT.
 Commonly used software is Microsoft PowerPoint designed
by Microsoft.
 It is a standard component of the company's Microsoft Office
suite software, and is bundled together with Word, Excel, and
other office productivity tools.
 The program uses slides to convey information rich in
multimedia.

 Backstage view can be accessed from the file tab.


 Management of the file and setting of the PowerPoint is
basically done in this tab.
 Presentation saving, open existing and creating new
presentation based on blank or predefined templates can be
carried out from the file.
Following are the description included in backstage view.
Command Description
Save This allows saving a new file or an existing file in standard format.
If working on a previously saved file this will save the new
changes in the same file format.

Save As It allows specifying the file name and the file type before saving
the file.
Open It opens a new PowerPoint files.
Close It closes an existing file.
Recent Lists series of recently viewed or edited PowerPoint files.
New It is to create a new file using blank or pre-defined templates.
Print Selection of the printer settings and print the presentation.
Save & Send It is to share the presentation with larger audience via emails, web,
cloud services, etc.
Exit Closes the presentation and exits the program.
The Quick Access Toolbar

 This toolbar offers a


convenient place to group
the most commonly used
commands in PowerPoint.
 Users can customize this
toolbar to suit their needs.
Ribbon

 It is a command bar that organizes a program’s features into a


series of tabs at the top of screen.
 They are composed of group of closely related commands,
designed to help users quickly find desired commands.
 Some of the tools required for creating presentation in
PowerPoint are organized logically into various ribbons.
• The following table describes various commands in different
menu category.

Home Clipboard functions, manipulating slides, fonts, paragraph settings, drawing
objects and editing functions
Insert Insert tables, pictures, images, shapes, charts, special texts, multimedia and
symbols
Design Slide setup, slide orientation, presentation themes and background

Animations Commands related to animation within the individual slides
Slideshow Commands related to slideshow set up and previews
Review Proofing content, language selection, comments and comparing presentations
View Commands related to presentation views, Master slides, color settings and
window arrangements

characteristics: font, size, boldness, underlining,
alignment, etc.
