WORD PROCESSING SPREAD SHEET PACKAGE PRESENTATION PACKAGE DATABASE MANAGEMENT
Word Processing:
word processor is a device or
software program capable of
creating, storing, and printing text
documents. It allows users to write
and modify text, display it on a
screen, save it electronically, and
print it out.
ADVANTAGES OF WORD PROCESSOR IN DOCUMENT DESIGNING:

1.Ease of Editing and Formatting

2.Consistency in Design

3.Advanced Layout Options

4.Spell Check and Grammar Tools

5.Collaboration and Sharing

6.Document Templates
The different feature of Word Processor
are:
1. Text Editing Features:
Typing and Text Input: The basic feature of any word processor is the ability to type
text into a document.

2. Spell Check and Grammar Check:

Spell Checker: Word processors automatically check spelling as you type and
provide suggestions for corrections.

3. Templates and Styles

Templates: Word processors offer a variety of pre-designed templates (e.g., for
resumes, letters, reports, and newsletters), making it easier to create documents
with a professional look.

4. Security Features
Password Protection: Word processors often provide the option to password-protect
documents, preventing unauthorized access to sensitive content.
Spread Sheet Package:

A spreadsheet is a computer program that

can capture, display and manipulate data
arranged in rows and columns.
Spreadsheets are among the most popular
tools available for computer users. A
spreadsheet is generally designed to hold
numerical data and short text strings.
Main Features of a Spreadsheet
Package:
1.Grid of Cells:
The fundamental feature of a spreadsheet is its grid layout, where data is entered
into rows (horizontal) and columns (vertical).

2.Formulas and Functions:

Formulas allow users to perform calculations using mathematical operators
(addition, subtraction, multiplication, etc.)

3.Data Formatting:
Spreadsheet packages allow users to format the appearance of cells, such as
adjusting font type, size, color, cell background color, text alignment, number
formats (currency, percentage, etc.), and borders.

4.Charts and Graphs:

Users can visualize data by creating a wide variety of charts and graphs (e.g., bar
charts, pie charts, line graphs) based on the data in the spreadsheet.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF CHARTS IN MS-
EXCEL
1. Column 2.Bar Charts
Charts
01 Displays vertical bars for
different categories to
02 Displays horizontal bars for
different categories to
compare values side by side. compare values side by side.

3. Line Charts 4. Pie Charts

03 Shows trends over time (like
monthly or yearly data) with
04 Displays the
contribution of
a continuous line each category to
the total.
Presentation
package:
A presentation package is a software application used to
create visual presentations that combine text, images,
audio, video, and other multimedia elements to
communicate information to an audience.
Features of a Presentation
Package:
1.Slide Creation and Layout
2.Text and Font Customization
3.Multimedia Integration (Images, Audio, Video)
4.Animations and Transitions
5.Charts and Graphs
6.Templates and Themes
7.Collaboration and Sharing
8.Speaker Notes and Presenter View
9.Interactivity (Hyperlinks, Buttons)
10.Slide Show Mode
Custom Animation:
Custom Animation allows users to apply unique animation effects to
individual elements on a slide, such as text, images, shapes, or charts. It
gives control over how and when these elements appear, move, or
disappear during the presentation. Users can set the timing of
animations (e.g., triggered by a click, automatically after the previous
element, or simultaneously with another). Custom animations also offer
a variety of effects, such as fading, zooming, flying in, and spinning,
which can be tailored to suit the presentation style. Additionally, the
order of animations can be adjusted to create a sequence, and users can
control the duration and speed of each animation. Custom motion paths
can also be used to make elements move along specific routes on the
slide. This feature enhances the visual appeal of the presentation,
making it more engaging and dynamic for the audience.
*Database Management System:
A Database Management System (DBMS) is a software system that
enables users to efficiently store, manage, and retrieve data in a
structured and organized manner.
*Uses of Database Management
System:
1.Data Storage and Organization: DBMS stores data in a structured format,
typically in tables, which makes it easier to manage large amounts of
information.

2.Data Retrieval: DBMS allows users to query and retrieve specific data quickly
using SQL (Structured Query Language).

3.Data Integrity and Accuracy: DBMS enforces rules (constraints) to ensure that
the data entered into the system is accurate, consistent, and valid.

4.Data Security: DBMS provides security mechanisms like user authentication

and access controls to ensure that only authorized users can access or modify
the data. Sensitive data can be encrypted to protect privacy.
