are statements conveying
the intent of a program of
study. Specifically, program
outcomes refer to what a
student should know or be
able to do at the end of a
program. They are often
seen as the knowledge and
skills students will have
obtained by the time they
have received their
intended degree.
Program Outcomes
•Broadest level of outcomes.
•Define the knowledge, skills, and
abilities students should possess
upon completing an entire program
or degree.
•Focus on the overall competencies
and qualifications graduates will
achieve
Course Outcomes
•Intermediate level of outcomes.
•Specify what students should be able to
do upon completing a specific course.
•Align with program outcomes,
contributing to the overall program goals.

For Example: Demonstrate a


comprehensive understanding of
assessment principles, types, and
purposes to design, develop, and
implement appropriate assessment tools
for enhancing student learning.
Learning Outcomes
•Most specific level of outcomes.
•Describe the specific knowledge, skills, or
attitudes students will acquire as a result of
completing a particular learning activity or
unit within a course.
•Build towards achieving course and
program outcomes.

•Examples: Students will be able to define


stress and strain, use a specific formula to
calculate stress, interpret the results of a
