Hard Disc Drive(HDD) / Solid State Drive(SSD)

 HDD
 A Hard Disc Drive (HDD) is a non-volatile storage device that that stores data on a magnetic medium and are
commonly used in computers, laptops etc.

HHD

 SSD
 Solid State Drive(SSD) is a non-volatile storage device that stores data on flash memory chips.

 SSD

Difference between HDD and
SSD
 Speed:
o HDD: Slower in reading and writing due to it’s mechanical moving parts.
o SSD: Faster in reading and writing due to its flash memory with no moving parts.
 Durability:
o HDD: More prone to damage from drops and physical shocks due to moving parts.
o SSD: More durable as it has no moving parts and is less likely to fail from physical impact.
 Cost:
o HDD: More affordable per gb of storage as compared to SSD.

 SSD: More expensive per gb of storage as compared to HDD.

ROLE OF THE CPU IN A COMPUTER
SYSTEM

 Itis for interpreting and executing instruction from software

programs.
 Itessentially controls the flow of data and performs calculation, and
also transforms raw input into usable output, managing all the other
components within the machine.
