2nd Review (Phase 2)

The document outlines a project for an IoT-based bus tracking system aimed at alleviating traffic congestion by providing real-time bus availability information. It includes a review of existing literature, a proposed system utilizing RFID and GPS technologies, and details on hardware and software requirements. The project aims to develop an Android application for users and administrators to access bus availability data efficiently.

ABSTRACT
• Traffic congestion in cities makes it difficult for public transport operators to
deliver services according to schedules.
• This is a universal problem, experienced in every major city. One solution being
deployed in many cities is the provision of electronic information displays at bus
stops, which give the customer an estimate of the waiting for the next bus.
• The device at the bus will be able to identify itself when called upon using RFID.
• The communication between the devices will be wireless, and must be
complicated enough to tell the difference between many buses and stops.
• It must be programmable so that the system could be used in any city with public
transportation.

EXISTING SYSTEM

We know that the available buses only in bus stand and the current
location of the bus.
PROPOSED SYSTEM

• In Phase 1 we know the bus availability only in bus stand instead of that we
change it to bus stops.

• Developing an Android application to know the bus availability for both admin
and users.

Arduino UNO
• It is an open source ,A micro-controller is a small computer on a single integrated
circuit containing a processor core, memory, and programmable input/ output
peripherals The important part for us is that micro-controller contains the
processor (which all computers have) and memory, and some input/output pins
that you can control.

• We will be using the Arduino Uno board. This combines a micro-controller along
with all of the extras to make it easy for you to build and debug your projects. The
Uno is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328P.

• It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6
analog inputs, a 16 MHz quartz crystal, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP
header and a reset button.
NODE MCU
• Node MCU is an open source IoT platform. It includes firmware which runs on
the ESP8266 Wi-Fi Sock from Expressive Systems, and hardware which is based
on the ESP-12 module. The term “Node MCU” by default refers to the firmware
rather than the development kits.

• The ESP8266 module is an extremely cost effective board with a huge, and ever
growing, community.

• Its high degree of on-chip integration allows for minimal external circuitry,
including the front-end module, is designed to occupy minimal PCB area. The
ESP8266 supports APSD for VoIP applications and Bluetooth co-existence
interfaces
LCD
• Dot matrix LCD modules is used for display the parameters and fault condition.

• 16 characters 2 lines display is used. It has controller which interface data’s and
LCD panel. Liquid crystal displays (LCD’s) have materials, which combine the
properties of both liquids and crystals.

• Rather than having a melting point, they have a temperature range within which
the molecules are almost as mobile as they would be in a liquid, but are grouped
together in an ordered form similar to a crystal.
RFID

• RFID is a Radio Frequency IDentification.

• An ADC (Automated Data Collection) technology
BUZZER

• A buzzer or beeper is a signaling device, usually electronic, typically used in

automobiles, household appliances such as a microwave oven, or game shows.

• Initially this device was based on an electromechanical system which was

identical to an electric bell without the metal gong
SOFTWARE REQUIREMENT

• Arduino IDE
• Embedded C
