Satellite systems enable global communication through voice, data, and broadcast services using orbiting satellites. The Global Positioning System (GPS) utilizes trilateration to determine precise locations by calculating distances from satellites. While satellite navigation offers advantages like destination finding and tracking, it has limitations in certain environments and may hinder route learning for users.

GPS Navigation Satellite Systems
Satellite systems provide voice, data, and broadcast
services globally. They use satellites in orbit to communicate and receive signals from them. Global Positioning System (GPS) and Trilateration GPS uses satellites to determine the precise location of receivers. Satellites send signals with their position and time data. The receiver calculates the distance from each satellite to determine its position using trilateration. Satellite Navigation: Pros and Cons Advantages: - Helps people find destinations. - Tracks parcels and stolen vehicles. - Provides information on nearby shops, restaurants, petrol stations. - Gives spoken directions for safer driving. Disadvantages: - Doesn't work well in buildings or underground. - Users may not learn routes if they rely solely on navigation. What3words System
What3words divides the world into 3m x 3m
squares, assigning each a unique 3-word address. This system provides highly accurate location information. Used by emergency services and car navigation systems for precise location tracking.
