• In this, you usually know what qualifications an

• You will also have more competitions, as hundreds of

posting job requisitions on online job boards, on the
company’s website, or by taking out an ad in the newspaper.
• The purpose of the solicited application letter, also referred
to as a cover letter, is to get an interview. It is your letter of
introduction and should be written in a manner that captures
the hiring manager’s attention and makes you stand out from
the competition.

UNSOLICITED APPLICATION LETTER

• A cold call cover letter (also known as an unsolicited


application/cover letter) is a document you send with your
resume for a position that isn’t officially open.
• Just like a cover letter, a cold cover letter highlights your skill
set and job experience to convince the recruiter that you’re
the person for the job.
• A job seeker may desire employment with a particular
company that has not posted open job requisitions.
UNSOLICITED APPLICATION LETTER

• In this case, an unsolicited application letter is used as an inquiry


about possible openings and to gain a hiring managers attention.
• The letter may be addressed to the head of the Human Resources
Department or to the manager of a particular division.
• The letter is most likely to be read what it is addressed to a
particular person rather than the generic to “whom it may
concern” salutation.
