DEI(Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
)
What is workplace diversity?
• Improving diversity in the workplace requires not only hiring
individuals of different races, ethnicities, genders, ages, religions,
disabilities, and sexual orientations, but also those with varied
experiences, education, skill sets, beliefs, and personalities.

• While not entirely comprehensive, these broad categories of diverse

groups can help identify gaps that exist within an organisation. They
also provide an opportunity to establish metrics and set goals for
increasing diversity in the workplace.
What is workplace equity?
• Equity in the workplace means that access to opportunities is
proportional to each person’s needs. This ensures that the
opportunity is equally advantageous to everybody, because it’s
offered in a way that takes diversity into account. In other words,
equity will eliminate barriers and level the playing field by giving each
person the right kind of support.
What is workplace inclusion?

• A culture of workplace inclusion ensures creating a workplace where

all employees feel valued , respected and includes. Workplace
inclusion means that everyone is given equal opportunity – and feel
welcome – to participate and contribute.

• If everyone has the same background, expectations, and experiences,

inclusion is really easy. You don’t have to think about what it will take
for people with different backgrounds and experiences to excel.
Benefits of DEI in the workplace

• Financial performance
• Employer of choice
• Innovation and growth
• Increased employee engagement
• Powerful decision-making
Hybrid work model

• A "hybrid work model" in HRM (Human Resource Management) refers

to a flexible work arrangement where employees split their time
between working remotely from home and working in the physical
office, allowing them to choose where they work based on their
tasks and needs, often with a set schedule for office days and remote
days.
Benefits of a hybrid work model
for HR:
• Increased employee satisfaction and engagement: By offering
flexibility, hybrid work can lead to higher job satisfaction and
employee retention.

• Improved productivity: When employees can choose their work

environment based on their task, productivity can potentially
increase.

• Cost savings: Companies may be able to reduce office space

requirements with a hybrid workforce.
Cont…
• Combined benefits: Aims to capture the advantages of both in-office
collaboration and the convenience of remote work.

• Different structures: Can be implemented in various ways, like a

"split-week" model (e.g., 2 days in office, 3 days remote) or a
"flexible" model where employees decide based on their needs.
